The ASPHER Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) was prominently featured at the 3rd Annual UCD One Health Conference, “One Health: Making it a Reality", held on 3 December 2024. Hosted by the UCD WHO Collaborating Centre, the event explored how interdisciplinary collaboration can translate the One Health approach into action.
Professor Mary Codd, CCP Lead, chaired a dynamic panel discussion, while ASPHER Fellow Karl served as rapporteur, helping to capture key insights from across the day.
Key themes running through the conference included collaborative leadership and governance, systems thinking for change, and the importance of lifelong education and advocacy. Discussions also emphasized the role of cultural context and Indigenous wisdom, and concluded with a forward-looking focus on “The Future of One Health in Ireland and Beyond."
With its diverse panels and cross-sectoral engagement, the event reaffirmed the critical role of integrated thinking in achieving sustainable health outcomes for people, animals, and the environment.
