ASPHER’s Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) was represented this week at the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland, during the Faculty of Public Health Medicine’s annual winter gathering. The ASPHER Fellow delivered a thaught provoking presentation titled "Beyond the Battlefield: Educating Public Health Professionals on the Impact of Conflict and War."
The talk highlighted the urgent need to integrate conflict, war, and peacebuilding into the public health curriculum. Drawing from the ASPHER Core Curriculum, the presentation emphasized how future public health professionals must be equipped to respond to complex humanitarian crises and health challenges in conflict zones.
The session was met with strong engagement and praise from public health consultants and physicians from across Ireland, alongside international attendees. It marked a significant step forward in promoting education that addresses the realities of global conflict and its public health consequences.
